PHYNIX calibration standards (thickness range between 10 µm and 10 mm) are used to verify and calibrate coating thickness gauges. The standards are made out of of wear-resistant hard-plastic films or plates.

All calibration standards can be calibrated with a manufacturer's test certificate type M according to DIN 55350-18. The advantage is a more accurate knowledge of the thickness of the standards used, which is for foil calibration of particular advantage.

The documented thickness value is the arithmetic mean of 5 individual measurements. Four of the measured values are taken in the middle region of the standard at a distance of 10 mm from the edge of an imaginary square. The fifth measured value is taken in the center of the square. Each standard is marked with the serial number of the manufacturer's test certificate.

The thickness values are determined in our laboratory at 21 °C ± 2 °C with a certified length measuring system; as reference standards we use certified measurement blocks. The measuring equipment used and the measured thickness values can be traced back to the national length standard of the Federal Republic of Germany, managed by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig.

This calibration service PHYNIX also provides for calibration standards, which are sent to us by customers for testing and calibration.

More comfortable than the certification of individual standards are our calibration sets, which can be delivered with a manufacturer's test certificate on request.
