PHYNIX meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015

PHYNIX GmbH & Co. KG has been successfully re-certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015. This is the result of an audit that was carried out in mid-August 2021 on the premises of PHYNIX GmbH & Co. KG in Neuss. An auditor from VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH in Cologne examined all aspects of the standard, including risk and opportunity management and the structured use of the “knowledge” resource.

All existing processes, procedures and documents were checked and updated, new content was developed and also documented. Particularly noteworthy are the points “interested parties”, i.e. customers and suppliers, but also authorities, employees and dealers, as well as “company policy” and “company goals”.

Another focus was on the topic "risk and opportunity management". The risks and opportunities from each area were compiled and assessed, and measures to minimize risks or to seize opportunities were named.

The re-audit according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 applies to the scope “development, manufacture and sale of devices for surface measurement, in particular coating thickness measuring devices”. With the ISO certificate, we document for our customers that the processes at PHYNIX are transparent and that we attach particular importance to quality.

The compact PHYNIX wall thickness gauge DC-2000C is characterized by high accuracy and an easy-to-use menu structure. For fast material selection, the sound velocities of nine different materials are stored in the gauge. In addition, the gauge also allows the storage of four user-defined sound velocities.

The measurement process is simple: after selecting the material or the sound velocity, the probe is placed on the measuring spot which was prepared beforehand with a small amount of coupling gel. A symbol in the display indicates a successful pairing and the wall thickness is displayed.

Preparations for certification started at the end of 2017. All existing processes, procedures and documents were reviewed and updated, new content was developed and documented. The outstanding feature of this new PHYNIX gauge is the brilliant color graphic display with improved text presentation and which allows a variety of different operating languages. The internal memory was greatly enlarged compared to the Surfix series and now allows the storage of up to 2,000 measured values. The connection to a computer is simply via USB 2.0.

Two models are available: the Surfix® SX can be connected to all probes from the PHYNIX probe program. Based on our tried and tested FN1.5/90°-probe, both the probe head and the shaft have been redeveloped. The new development led to a more robust probe with improved suspension of the probe head. With this probe, coating thickness measurements on difficult-to-access areas are possible with a high measuring accuracy as well. Designed as a combination probe, it can measure on steel/iron as well as on NE metals (e.g. aluminium). The measuring range for both base materials is 0 – 1,500 µm, as for our standard probes.

The newly developed, deflecting suspension of the sensor head results in a very small measuring uncertainty and high reproducibility of measurement values.
