Standard probes
All our standard probes for layer thickness measurement have a high wear resistance measuring pole made of carbide and guarantee a very long service life. The probes are designed for a measuring range up to 1,500 μm. Measurements are possible with both the magnet-inductive measuring method and the eddy current method:
-
For non-destructive coating thickness measurement on iron and steel the magnetic-inductive principle is used. The coating must be non-magnetic – for instance, varnish, paint, enamel, plastic, glass, aluminium, lead, chrome, copper, brass, zinc, tin, etc.
-
The eddy-current principle enables the non-destructive coating thickness measurement on non-magnetic metal substrates eg. aluminium, aluminium alloys, lead, bronze, copper, brass, zinc, die-cast zinc, tin. The coatings under test must be electrically insulating; for instance, varnish, paint, enamel, plastic, glass, anodizing coatings and ceramics
The plastic foot at the foot of the probes is additionally provided with a V-groove. Thus, vertical positioning on cylindrical or curved surfaces is facilitated. With an optional hot-measuring set-up foot, coatings up to 150 ° C can be measured. The high-temperature base, which is also available as an accessory, even allows measurements on surfaces of up to 300 °C.
Probe FN 0.2
Highly accurate probe especially for thin layers with a measuring range from 0-200 µm. Combination probe for measurements on iron/steel and non-ferrous metals. The adjustment to the respective base material takes place automatically.
Probe FN 1.5
Standard probe with a measurement range from 0-1,500 µm. Combination probe for measurements on iron/steel and non-ferrous metals. The adjustment to the base material is carried out automatically in the measuring instrument. Also available with an acid resistant pole.
Probe F 1.5
Standard probe with a measurement range of 0 - 1,500 μm. For measurement on iron/steel.
Probe N 1.5
Standard probe with a measurement range from 0 - 1,500 μm, for measurements on non-ferrous metals. In the version with an acid-proof pole, this probe is particularly suitable for electroplating plants.
